CARTEL and Co.

Samuel is a British photographer and director born in 1989. His work utilizes the juxtaposition of lively and joyful compositions with more pensive studies of form.

He studied fine art and documentary photography at UCA Farnham, learning traditional printing techniques and research-based practice. His early projects focussed on photographing fringe societies in parts of rural England and he wrote his dissertation around the subject of aftermath photography in the wake of war and natural disaster.

A regular collaborator with some of the most notable fashion houses in the industry, Samuel has photographed their collections, but is often enlisted for his photographs of wild flowers, idiosyncratic urban details and expansive landscapes.
